Furthermore, regular serving of fresh fruits and vegetables are also required to further get proper nutrition. Although well-mannered and laid back, this species still needs considerable amount of time for exercise and outdoor activities. This is the reason why it is not recommended as a pet for very busy people. Minimum of 3 to 4 hours per day is required to meet its exercise requirement. If possible, the best time to let it out of its cage and do outdoor interaction is in the morning. To prevent unwanted injuries and instances, make sure to bird-proof the playing area while also keeping a close attention to your pet bird.

When proper care and diet are given, this species can live up to 25 years. In special cases, it can live more than 30 years. To further maximize its lifespan, it is recommended to give mandatory bird vaccines by a reputable vet. In addition, you must have regular checkups to prevent developing health issues.

In terms of breeding, this species requires moderate effort from start to end of breeding season. It commonly starts to breed at around 3 to 5 years old. However, there are many factors you must consider once your pet is breeding. For starters, you must put it in a secluded breeding area due to the fact that it creates loud noises that can easily reach your neighbors. Second factor to watch is the aggressiveness of the male during breeding. Lastly, you must prove a large enclosure and cage that will be comfortable for your pet during breeding.
